Twisters Yoga Teacher Training is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance® Registered Level 1 Teacher Training designed for students who want to enhance and deepen their practices of yoga both on and off their mat and for those who would ultimately like to teach. Our training will include a balanced blend of the physical, meditative, and spiritual aspects of yoga.

Students are expected to approach this training with an open mind and to participate fully in attendance, homework assignments, a final exam, and final teaching evaluation. Upon completion of the 200 hours students will be given a certificate and will qualify to register with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour RYT level.

Over the course of our training you will learn how to teach the following:

  • Creative and safe sequencing within classes for both beginners and advanced students in Vinyasa Flow and more stationary styles of practice
  • Use of effective language and cuing for best communication
  • Teaching students safe and proper alignment by starting from the inside and working outward
  • Learning to watch your class and teach specifically to the students within the room
  • Basic hands on adjustments and yoga therapeutics
  • Different techniques for teaching basic mindfulness, meditation, and pranayama
  • Creating themes to link throughout classes

   9 weekends - 10/6, 11/3, 11/17, 12/8, 1/5, 2/16, 3/2, 4/6 and 5/4

   Hours: Friday - 6-9 PM, Saturday - 9-5:30, Sunday - 9-5:30

Welcome to the 2017-18 Twisters Yoga Teacher Training Application. Please complete the required information in our online application. The information gathered in this form gives the teacher training faculty an opportunity to get to know you, your history, and your visions for completing this training. Please be succinct in your responses. All information shared in this application will be confidential between you and lead faculty.
Who is appropriate for this training?

Anyone interested in diving deeper into yoga, whether you are interested in teaching or not.  This training will deepen your individual practice and provide you with a wealth of knowledge to explore your passion for yoga both on and off the mat.

Prerequisites to apply to our Teacher Training Program:

We recommend that students have at least one year of practicing yoga but will evaluate each student individually during the application process.  No prior teaching experience is required for this program, just an open mind, willingness to learn and desire to help others.  If you have a completed a 200 RYT in the past but would like to enroll in our program we will offer a 20 % discount off our pricing (a copy of your certificate from previous program must be provided at the time of application).

Your Teachers

Tricia Fleming and Tammy Dinda will be leading you on this amazing journey. Together they have over 24 years of teaching experience.  

DSCN5223Yoga was a natural progression for Tricia after a life of competitive figure skating followed by studies in Exercise Physiology in college. She has been teaching for 16 years and feels as strongly about yoga today as when she started.  Tricia has been teaching since 2000, and has studied and done trainings with with Dee Silvers, David Swenson, Manju Jois, David Williams, Seane Corn, Michelle Synnestvedt and John Friend (before he imploded).  While she loves the physical side of yoga her keen interest lies within the practice of mindfulness and the science behind it.  She and her husband Toby started Twisters in 2001 and continue to run the business together. 

DSCN5213Tammy has been practicing yoga for 15 years. In 2008 she completed a 200 hour teacher training and in 2014 she completed a 500 hour teacher training at Dig Yoga in Lambertville, NJ.




Fall 2017-18 Program Format:

Our training will be broken down into three modules, each module building upon the previous one.  Trainees can attend and pay for the first module individually, or the full training in it’s entirety (YA 200 hour certified).

Module 1 (weekends 1-3) - Includes: alignment and general form in basic asanas, common misalignments, sequencing and general teaching guidelines
Module 2 (weekends 4-6) - Includes: 8 limbs of yoga, meditation, theming classes
Module 3 (weekends 7-9) - Includes: anatomy, therapeutics, hands on adjustments, teaching to special populations: prenatal, kids, yin

Course Requirements:

  • Attend all nine weekend intensives
  • Maintain a daily journal and meditation practice
  • Practice a minimum of 3x a week at our Ambler and Erdenheim locations. Attendance for all of Tammy's and Tricia's classes will be free over the course of the training with discounts offered for other classes. Trainees will also receive a 20% discount for any retail purchased within the training dates. At least one of the three mandatory classes taken within the week must be led by Tricia or Tammy.

$3550 - if using payment plan, 8 payments of $356.25 to be paid starting the first weekend and due before the first session of each weekend (1-8).  Plus, $500 deposit must be made to hold spot - this has been deducted up front from the monthly payment calculations)
