Elizabeth completed her teacher training in 2006 at Wake Up Yoga after being inspired by teachers and studies in college to delve into eastern philosophy. During her yoga training, she developed an interest in the anatomical and physiological aspects of the practice while furthering her understanding of its philosophy.
 
She has since completed trainings with great teachers, and was certified to teach prenatal yoga in 2007. She continues to frequently study and practice yoga, and maintains a constant fascination with the help of her studies, her students and her teachers.
 

Matthew Mitlas

Matthew began practicing Yoga and Mindfulness in 2011 and has been teaching since 2013. Trained privately by his mentor Connie Miller, Matthew’s style of teaching is influenced by the Kripalu, Anusara, and more recently Ashtanga traditions of Yoga, Ayurveda, and Mindfulness.
 
His classes invite an awareness that envelops all types of movement and keeps the mind steady, focused, and light. Matthew teaches universal alignment principles that keep the body safe while exploring inner stillness and breath in each posture. With his poetic verbal cues, intelligent sequencing and warm presence, Matthew works to co-create the conditions and space where his students may experience an authentic, inward experience of Yoga. Students will become present with the infinite creativity of the universe as it takes form in each and every body in its own, unique way!

These classes are specially designed for people brand new to Yoga but they are also great for novices who want to review the foundations of the practice. Yoga is appropriate for just about anyone. You don't need to be flexible to start, you simply need the desire to show up and do your best. These classes offers an easy and comfortable way for newcomers to begin their own practice and increase confidence on the mat. Areas on concentration include:

- Yoga's Basic Postures with Proper Alignment.
- The Role & Importance of Breath in the Practice of Yoga.
- Techniques for Enhancing a Sense of Moving Meditation for Focus, Stress-Relief, & Relaxation.
