Alexis Frankel

Alexis joined the Twisters staff as a Spinning Instructor in 2012 and has now found a home teaching Reformer Pilates at the Ambler studio annex. Alexis, a former Latin teacher, has appropriated her teaching skills to the discipline of pilates and enjoys bringing new and varied challenges to her clients. Particularly interested in the connection of form and function, Alexis focuses on teaching the proper bio-mechanics to ensure that each exercise achieves the greatest effectiveness for each person.
In addition to teaching pilates at Twisters, Alexis enjoys working with students of all ages and pursuing all disciplines as a private tutor in the Philadelphia area.

Stacey Timbo

Stacey Timbo has been teaching and practicing Pilates for more than 4 years. She loves Pilates now more than ever because it continues to evolve and allows Stacey to find more power and depth in the work. Her greatest joy comes from watching her clients experience profound changes in their bodies and seeing their excitement when they learn something new. Through her degree in Kinesiology, Stacey discovered Pilates and what it could do for her body. While completing her physical therapy internship with an emphasis in Kinesiology she discovered that Pilates incorporates both her love for general fitness and rehabilitation. Stacey studied under Balance Body by taking their comprehensive training program in Reformer and Mat Pilates. The Balanced Body program that Stacey learned under taught her a comprehensive Pilates training program on the Pilates equipment including mat and Reformer.
Stacey values learning and has continued her education through a variety of workshops and conferences through a myriad of different Pilates studios and seminars. While staying true to the principles of Pilates, Stacey integrates other props to assist in advancing movements to improve one’s strength, coordination and balance.

Merissa Zeek

~ Pilates Reform Instructor / Pilates Mat Instructor / Barre Instructor
Merissa has been instructing since June of 2008. She is a certified IM=X Pilates instructor, and also teaches Balanced Body Wunda Chair, Barre Class, as well as mat Pilates.
Merissa enjoys expanding her education and training to further progress her clients.

Francie Rawlings

~ Pilates Reformer Instructor
Francie has been a fitness enthusiast and avid participant in a variety of sports and fitness trends over the past 20 years. She worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer after college and parlayed her enthusiasm for training into a corporate setting. Although she currently spends her weekdays running global implementations for a Pharmaceutical company, she carves out time on the weekends for her favorite activity—Pilates.
Francie looks most forward to her time with her students, sharing her passion for the Reformer and its many exercises that work to lengthen and support the body. Her classes are a combination of variety and challenge that develop proper body alignment and improve core body strength. Francie came to Twisters in 2007 as a yoga student and began teaching Pilates Reformer in 2010. She is Balance Body trained in Pilates Reformer and qualified in TRX Suspension Training.

Kelly Bielby

After 15 successful years in nonprofit management, Kelly joins the team at Twisters to teach Pilates Mat, Reformer and other Pilates Equipment Classes. Kelly began studying Pilates after an injury limited her range of motion and stability. Kelly loves how Pilates is grounded in alignment and it can lead to better posture, balance, muscle tone and overall body strength.
Kelly specializes in using the classical Pilates method as a way to exercise safely in proper form, prevent or help heal from injury and correct imbalances that can result from sitting for long periods. She believes a regular practice of Pilates informs your body awareness allowing for “spontaneous zest and pleasure,” as Joe Pilates himself said. Throughout her journey as a teacher, Kelly is continually amazed and inspired by the work that Pilates can accomplish for everyone and how the exercises can be practiced during all stages of life. Kelly truly believes all persons are capable of moving in a healthy and sustainable way given the opportunity.
Kelly is committed to creating strong relationships with clients. She is also available for private instruction sessions. Please contact the studio to arrange.

Abby Schiff

~ Yoga Instructor/ Pilates Reformer Instructor/ Pilates Mat Instructor
Abby can usually be found teaching Pilates Reformer at Twister’s Pilates Annex directly down the street from the Ambler yoga/barre studios. Although Abby initially trained as a yoga instructor and started teaching at Twisters in 2007, she has transitioned her practice to combine pilates, yoga and barre and uses these various disciplines to tailor specific workouts for her clients' physical issues and goals.
Abby has been involved in the fitness arena for most of her life-- teaching aerobics, personal training and taking dance classes. She has completed several hundred hours of yoga training earning various certifications and is an active yoga practitioner. Abby has supplemented her background by taking Pilates trainings with Sylvia Byrd-Leitner and Joy Puleo earning teaching certifications from Balanced Body University including: Pilates Reformer and Movement Principles I, Reformer II Module, Mat I and Movement Principles, and most recently, Ballet Barre Instructor training.
While Abby has taught in numerous studios, schools, corporations and other venues in the Philadelphia suburbs as well as the New Jersey shore, Twisters is her home where she practices the same techniques that she shares with her students. She looks forward to working with other yoga practitioners to help them enhance their practice using the benefits of Pilates.
These classes offer a variety of Beginner to Intermediate Level exercises. Advanced registration and payment is required. Please call 215-654-5393 for availability as space is limited to 5 people.
