Maureen Rathfon

Maureen began training in classical ballet at the age of 4, most notably with Olin Kearse (of the Royal Danish Ballet), The Rock School, The University of the Arts, and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and went on to perform with Ballet Austin.
 
Her goal in her barre classes is to help her students find proper alignments in the various ballet fusion moves to maximize tone and strengthen the entire body.
 

Stacey Timbo

 
Stacey Timbo has been teaching and practicing Pilates for more than 4 years. She loves Pilates now more than ever because it continues to evolve and allows Stacey to find more power and depth in the work. Her greatest joy comes from watching her clients experience profound changes in their bodies and seeing their excitement when they learn something new. Through her degree in Kinesiology, Stacey discovered Pilates and what it could do for her body. While completing her physical therapy internship with an emphasis in Kinesiology she discovered that Pilates incorporates both her love for general fitness and rehabilitation. Stacey studied under Balance Body by taking their comprehensive training program in Reformer and Mat Pilates. The Balanced Body program that Stacey learned under taught her a comprehensive Pilates training program on the Pilates equipment including mat and Reformer.
 
Stacey values learning and has continued her education through a variety of workshops and conferences through a myriad of different Pilates studios and seminars. While staying true to the principles of Pilates, Stacey integrates other props to assist in advancing movements to improve one’s strength, coordination and balance.

Alyssa Beerger

Alyssa was exposed to dance at a very young age, and instantly fell in love with the arts. She studied Classical Ballet from age 5-15 at a local Ballet school in Chestnut hill, and then became interested in musical theatre and classical singing. Alyssa followed her passion for singing, and attended Loyola University of New Orleans receiving a Bachelor’s of Music from Loyola in 2011. During her time in New Orleans, Alyssa would attend barre and yoga classes. She grew to love the studio lifestyle, and soon realized she wanted to teach Barre classes.
 
Alyssa completed her Balanced Body Barre certification in April of 2013 and has been teaching at Twisters ever since. Alyssa’s classes are upbeat, and set to a fast paced, pop soundtrack. Her goal is to have her students build strength, gain flexibly, confidence in themselves, and have a little fun while doing it in a friendly atmosphere.

Michele Dolaway

Michele began her dance training at the age of 3 with The Ballet Theatre of Scranton and Scranton Civic Ballet Company. She continued her training at Point Park University with a concentration in jazz. Michele moved to the Philadelphia area and continued to train at The University of the Arts. She performed with Steppin’ Out Productions, Bally’s in Atlantic City and the Sixers Dancers (Philadelphia 76ers).
 
Michele went on the get her Nursing Degree and after having three daughters, got back into dance by taking classes at Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, Bucks County Dance Center and Koresh Dance Company. With two of her three daughters seriously studying dance, Michele returned to teaching and choreography. She was introduced to Pilates and immediately fell in love. Michele is passionate about Pilates because of the attention to proper body alignment and core strengthening – consistent with dance.
 
Michele is certified in both Mat and Reformer (IMX) Pilates, Balanced Body Pilates, Balanced Body Barre and aerobics (STRIDE). She enjoys teaching students of all ages and loves to share her passion for dance and pilates with those in her class. Michele also teaches jazz dance at Philadelphia Dance Theatre.

Anina Pfeiffer

Anina Pfeiffer began dance classes at the age of 7 and has studied ballet for over 25 years. She taught aerobics in the eighties and is excited to get back into it after taking time off to raise her 4 children. Anina has a dance minor and was in the Ballet Company at the University of New Hampshire. She was a cheerleader in high school and college, spent 6 years teaching aerobics part-time after college, and was a choreographer of and performer in “Special K” musical review at The Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University). She also holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and has taught 10+ years of dance lessons in jazz, hip hop, tap, and modern. Anina holds her teacher training in Balanced Body Barre, Group Exercise Class (AFAA), and Zumba.

Mallory Boothman

Mallory’s love for Barre came after joining Twisters in 2015. She enjoyed the high-energy and up-beat music that turned an hour workout into a time to unwind and have fun. After completing her Barre training in January 2017, Mallory looks to create the same environment for her clients and hopes to show that first timers can try something new and become experts.

Allison Mildenberg

Allison Mildenberg is a suma cum laude graduate of Marymount Manhattan College where she majored in dance and minored in dance education. Living and studying in New York City, she was exposed to a number of renowned teachers and dance legends that have influenced both her dancing and teaching styles. It was also during this time that she discovered and developed a passion for Barre and Pilates.
 
She continued to study Barre and Pilates upon moving back to Philadelpia. Her ownership of a collection of diverse styles and teaching methods for all ages has helped turn Allison into a profound instructor with over 15 years of teaching experience.

Stephanie Boothman

 
After starting at Twister’s back in 2015, Stephanie loved the idea of being instructed through a full body workout in an hour. Once she attended her first class, she become obsessed and continued her practice up through January 2017, where she completed her Barre Teacher Training through Twisters.

Stephanie hopes to pass this love of Barre onto her clients with a combination of fun, upbeat music along with cardio and strength training to help others become their best selves! In addition to teaching at Twisters, Stephanie is also a Finance Manager for a Toy Company in Plymouth Meeting.

All Levels Welcome

Barre class is a ballet-derived workout that doesn’t require actual dancing or a background in dance. Set to fun, fast-paced music, classes include a high energy warm-up and and lots of fabulous exercise to workout all parts of your body! Thighs and glutes will get a great workout at the barre, arms will be sculpted and strengthened through the use of light weights, bands and plank style exercises, lift and tone your tush through small movements and lots of great exercises to tone and strengthen all parts or your core - front, side and back.  Class ends with a cool down of stretching designed to lengthen and elongate muscles.

 

Barre classes are a great way to get strengthen your yoga practice or cross train for any other physical activity.
